Photos capturing our ongoing work to open the Belvidere Cornerstone as a vibrant, welcoming space for the community. Each year brings a new chapter in its restoration, steadily reviving the building while honoring its history.
Since acquiring the property, we have cleaned and refreshed the interior, removed the pews from their fixed positions, and reconfigured them along the walls to open and transform the main space. Along the way, we have removed obsolete exhaust piping, refinished and painted the original floors, installed new display bookcases, repaired broken windows, and addressed critical infrastructure.
Outside, we have removed the unstable sidewalk, installed a new water line, repointed the chimney, replaced the roof, and completed a new sidewalk. Inside, we added a fully functioning bathroom. And this summer, the next chapter continues with repainting the exterior.
It has been a remarkable journey so far, with more to come.
